Minecraft Cake

This is inspired by the Minecraft game and many creative ideas on google image. There are multiple components involved, therefore you really need to plan ahead.

1. Make sugar glass in a cookie tray and use it as cake base. This is optional. A cardboard cake base would do.
2. Make the rice krispy following instruction in the rice krispy heart, without food color. Then cut into 1.5" wide squares for sand blocks.
3. Make the eggless brownie for dirt blocks, then cur into 1.5" wide squares. I made eggless because my daughter is allergic to egg, you can use any brownie or chocolate cake recipe. Just make sure you squares will be the same thickness as your rice krispy blocks, otherwise, there will be a lot of trimming to do.
4, Make blue Jello for water blocks. Follow instruction on the package, except cut the water amount by half. This will make the Jello firmer, and easier to work with. The Jello need to be chilled overnight. Before assembly the cake, cut it the jello to 1.5" blocks.

5. Make green buttercream frosting for grass. Put in piping bag equipped with the Wilton grass tip #233 to be used for the grass on dirt blocks.
6. Assembly. Compare my sketch design to final layout. Close enough.
7. Add some fondant animals, candle. It is done. The cake is easy to serve - just take any block you like :-)
